Thanks for the update! She really enjoys being part of PFF.
It was amazing to see how her basketball improved last year just because she played with older kids at PFF.
It seems her favorite games this year are shooting stars and lifeguard so far...but she loves to play everything.

As a parent, I'm so grateful to you and your wonderful program. PFF day is the girls' favorite day of the week, we wish it was an option after school every day of the week! I love that they get to be active, social, and cared for while I'm still working after school. You take the time to get to know these kids and they look up to you and respect you for it. My girls love the fun games you introduce each week and appreciate all the "extra" things you do (Kid of the Week, fitness challenges, snacks, etc). Thank you!

I love Play Fit Fun! Coach Spencer has built a program that keeps kids actively engaged physically as well as mentally. My three kids always have huge smiles on their faces when I arrive to pick them up and frequently want to play one more game. Coach Spencer sends a weekly recap of the week’s session describing what the activities are and attaches pictures as well. It’s fun to see the big smiles on all the kids! He also sends out informative emails with articles that talk about how play ties into children’s development. It’s cool to see how he purposely selects games to develop your child in many ways. I feel very fortunate that our school has this program and that my kids attend!

As an athletic director I have had the pleasure to work with Spencer Rubin for over 15 years in a variety of forums. His work with “Play Fit Fun” is extremely important for our community. Our teenagers today are becoming more and more unhealthy due to lack of physical activity. With cell phones/video games and technology teenagers do not incorporate physical activity in their daily schedules. It is imperative that we change those habits now and get kids moving. “Play Fit Fun” incorporates sound proven techniques with peer leadership to get kids not only moving, but teaching habits that can last a life time!

They are really having fun. This morning, Dillon came in and was snuggling in bed with me and all of the sudden he bolted straight up and said - “It is play fit fun today!!! I have to go get ready!” and ran out of the bedroom.
He also told me that some of his friends have asked him if it is fun and his reply is “of course, that is why they call it play, fit, FUN”.
Thanks again for offering this great program.
I just wanted to thank you for such a great program. Gwendolyn loves play fit fun. After every session she turns into an excited little motor mouth detailing all the fitness stuff you guys do. From the agility and endurance to the games. She actually loves doing squat stands (weird kid). She points out that kids who play a lot of sports and kids who don’t normally play as much are all in it together and everyone likes it. She’s already a huge advocate for being active and fit : )
She thinks you are a great coach/teacher. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Spencer, thank you for the update on the kids. They love coming to your classes. From my view point as a parent I think the premise of getting kids up and moving is needed in our society. Initially, we had to drag Vanessa kicking and screaming, as she said she didn’t like it. But now, look how she’s done! She now loves going, and I can see the physical strength she’s gained. Ayden just simply loves coming every week! Michael can be a challenge so I appreciate how patient you all have been. He’s also made a lot of growth, physically and emotionally. His self esteem has greatly improved...and this is wonderful because next year he is off to middle school. Apart from their weekly camp, we all loved the camp they attended recently. Keep those going! Just keep doing what you are doing. It’s a great program.

Thank you for including Taylor in the 'Play Fit Fun' team of youth leaders.
Although your program is set to help get kids active and use their brain as well as their bodies to stay focused and active - your program also teaches leadership for the youth leaders. They become involved with the 'big picture' and Taylor has felt a sense of accomplishment. Being able to see and direct different kids - has helped him at home with his younger siblings and built new and current relationships with his peers.
Your program has shown Taylor that he is responsible and a leader. I think he knew it .. But with all the changes in a teenagers mind and body they .. Need to 'see' and 'feel' it for themselves. Leading kids is a great way to accomplish that and your program does it perfectly. Hopefully Taylor will continue to be involved - it's been an awesome experience and he loves it!
I have had the privilege of working with Spencer Rubin in a coaching position with Westside Timbers Soccer Club for two seasons. During that time I was in charge of the Girl’s Developmental Program, starting young players on their introduction to competitive soccer. The program is important to these young players and their parents because it is often their first connection to the world of competitive sports and the club itself.
During that time Spencer was one of my coaches who would work with me training the girls and motivating them to give their best efforts, stretch beyond their comfort zone and learn to be a better soccer player. Additionally, Spencer was good at one of our other objectives, making the player a better person, as well.
Spencer was a great coach to work with because he was open to changing coaching styles, learning how to introduce new concepts to players, how to motivate players, and most important, how to relate to the players in a manner that brought out the best in the players.
I consider Spencer to be a friend and have retained contact with him, even though I am no longer the head of that program, because Spencer is such a good person to know and to discuss issues with. If I had children who were eligible to work with Spencer, I would not hesitate at all to have them work and train under his supervision.

To whom it may concern:
I’m writing this letter in support of Spencer Rubin, who our family has known for 2 years. He has been my 10 year old daughter’s soccer coach and was also a co-coach with me previous to that so I know him as both a peer and a parent looking in.
My daughter has blossomed under Spencer’s guidance on the soccer field—not simply because of his ability to coach but also because of his desire to connect with the kids. He graciously walks that fine line between being “cool” in the kid’s eyes and an effective disciplinarian in the eyes of the parents.
The girls on his team respond to his coaching prompts eagerly and want to play for him. I think they sense that Spencer cares about them beyond any soccer practice or game---it’s obvious as the girls walk onto the field every week with smiles on their faces that he respects their individuality and, in fact, embraces it.
As a coach, Spencer works tirelessly, constantly studying, reading and researching. He is eager to learn and this energy is contagious, spilling over to those around him, both parents and kids. He is reliable, honest and committed. When needed, he is able to discuss awkward or difficult issues with parents or kids and does so with sensitivity and understanding.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like me to share more thoughts about Spencer Rubin.

I wanted to send a note to say thank you for the time you put in over the last few years Coaching Sophia. She has a new found confidence in Soccer ever since she was fortunate enough to have played for you. Her confidence and sense of teamwork is not independent to Soccer she has applied what she has learned from you in her life at home and at school as well. You know they say it takes a village to raise our children and I am a true believer in this. I just wish our village had more Spencer Rubin’s influencing the children in it.
You possess a very special ability to reach children in a way that inspires them to be the best they can be and have fun while doing it. The care and kindness I have witnessed you showing to every child that you coached was inspiring not only to myself but to other parents I would chat with during the many practices, clinics, games, and social events you gave your time to. I can say with absolute confidence my daughter is better off for having known you and will look back later in life and say “Spencer Rubin is someone that helped make me who I am today”. I am also confident that my daughter is not the only one that will say this later in life.
As you embark on your new endeavors outside of the Soccer arena I wish you the best of luck and offer my willingness to speak with anyone who would want to know “why should we have Spencer Rubin involved in the lives of our community’s children?”
To whom it may concern:
I have known Spencer as a parent and Basketball coach for the last few years.
My comments below are based on my observations of Spencer as both a coach and volunteer.
Spencer was head coach of our sons Basketball team. He has freely given hours of his time to support the team and the boys. He was extremely fair in rotating the boys on the bench, and made sure everyone had equal playing time. All the boys felt part of the team and were encouraged by Spencer’s words. He planned team-building outings and was always available to help with rides. If there was a seat in his vehicle you were welcomed to it!
Spencer is passionate about being involved in our community. He recently headed up a “Keep Fit for Kids” day. Tons of kids showed up and had a great day. He sought volunteers from the High School to help facilitate the games.
Spencer is highly motivated and extremely competent. He is trustworthy and dependable. I’m sure whatever task is thrown his way, he would welcome the challenge and SHINE!!

Just wanted to say thank you for working with Brendan. He really loves Play, Fit, Fun and it's EXACTLY what he needs. I appreciate your pushing him a bit too, we're also working with him at home to stay with things and not quit just because it's hard or takes effort.
I love that Play, Fit Fun builds his self confidence and makes him feel successful, not to mention of course just the opportunity to move is always good!

Hi Spencer and Coach Esteban!
Thank you for such great, upbeat messages! I appreciate the passion and commitment you have for the work you do with kids. My son, Julian, is very fond of Coach Esteban who always has a smile on his face and a high-five for Julian when I come to pick my son up at the end of a PlayFitFun session. As an only child, this means more to Julian than you will ever know.
Thank you, dear sirs, for your wonderful service and happy holidays to you and your loved ones!
Thanks for the update. It makes me very proud of them to hear how they’re behaving and being good role models. I also think that the program has been a terrific influence on them and is deserving taking credit for building a program that encourages getting along and that inclusiveness leads to a better experience for everyone.
Thanks again, Spencer.

My boys had an absolute blast their first experience at Play.Fit.Fun! My 10 year old, feels like PE is his least favorite activity in school due to be so tall and awkward for his age. He said to me, “Mom, I have never sweated so much before and not feel like I was working out. I was having fun!" My 6 year old, asked me if he gets to do Play.Fit.Fun again and has asked me every day since if it is Monday yet. J Thank you for offering such an amazing program and getting my kids moving while loving what they are doing at the same time.
Thank you very much for taking the time to play with us last week. I have received very positive feedback from both parents and players. I know the younger girls felt especially included, which is what I wanted to accomplish. A great experience for Sunset Basketball.

Thanks for everything. Both the girls love your program and both have developed great balance as well as stronger mind and healthier body. My husband and I truly appreciate everything you've done!
"Honestly this has been the best program he has ever attended!! It has let him use his energy in a productive way. He is happy and calm after being in your group. I love it!"

"...Also, wanna mention that Ryan had an awesome Dr.'s appointment for the first time in 4 years due to the fact that we've been busy keeping Ryan active on Tuesday's with Play Fit Fun and of course his hockey practices and games. Plus, they are walking to school now..."
"...I hope I can get more moms on board with your wonderful program :). Gord and I are so pleased we would like to thank you for your hard work!"
To Whom it May Concern:
Play Fit Fun and Spencer Rubin have provide a great opportunity for my son Hunter to give back to the community by volunteering to work with kids. Most of you know that getting a teenager to volunteer time with no stake in the game is next to impossible. I was excited to see Hunter's reaction after his first day of volunteer work. He was excited to have been in a mentor, role model position with kids. He said "it felt great to have kids look up to you, it made me feel special". He now looks forward to his volunteer sessions. Who would of thought that about my teenage kid! Thanks Spencer for the opportunity to help Hunter see that he can impact kids all while giving back. He is now seeing the benefit of "playing it forward" pun intended.
For the last two years I have had the pleasure to have Spencer coach my daughter and her soccer team at Westside Timbers Soccer Club. He is knowledgeable, caring, and is passionate about working with children and helping them to realize their potential as athletes. At the same time, Spencer understands the young girls he works with are still children; he does not expect the attention that one might from an adults or teens. He is patient, nurturing, and demanding when appropriate.
Since our first days together on the team, Spencer has always been approachable, friendly, and willing to talk about my daughter's progress on the field. He is passionate about the power of athletics to help guide and transform young lives for the better by teaching discipline and teamwork.
Our daughter improved and thrived immensely under Spencer’s tutelage.
To Whom it May Concern:
During the past year my wife and I have had the great please of watching my Ten year old daughter develop as a West Side Timber soccer youth player under the guidance, mentoring and coaching of Spencer Rubin. Spencer has a fantastic ability to guide youth through adversity and leverage their strengths.
Spencer has an endearing communication style that is very suited to developing and leading youth. During instruction Spencer instills trust, support and an authentic work ethic while driving for results. At practice and in games Spencer’s players were usually focused on both an individual and group basis displaying confidence and always having fun. Fun is a huge motivator in my opinion and I would say fun for teaching purposes is a core belief of Spencer’s and is essential in the learning process.
You can well imagine that taking on the serious job of eradicating childhood obesity in a sedentary world is quite a daunting task. Spencer has a never quit attitude and an inspiring spirit (infectious smile and demeanor) that will educate, motivate and lead your youth in developing the routines required to identify the obesity enabling habits, causes and defeat them.
I believe that Spencer has the ability to teach life skills that children will embrace well into their adult years of life. I am very confident that you will be extremely satisfied with a “yes” decision to retain the services of Spencer Rubin.
Spencer will focus your children and faculty on the WIN (What’s Important Now) that saves lives!

To whom it may concern,
My name is Jacob Hodgin, and I have known Spencer Reuben for 10 years.
During this time, I have had the privilege of being an assistant soccer coach for Spencer on six different occasions. Spencer and I also provided coaching assistance together during many other seasons of youth basketball, as our children were growing up together.
I have always found Spencer to be hard-working, dependable, honest, conscientious, and courteous. More importantly, Spencer employs a great mix of love, devotion, and discipline towards his commitment to child development and physical fitness. Spencer does this not only for himself and his own family, but for all of the families that have been graced to have him in their lives.
I whole heartedly recommend Spencer and would be very happy to provide any further information if needed.

Spencer CRUSHED it by creating Play.Fit.Fun and filling a huge void in today’s modern world. Kids and parents who experience Play.Fit.Fun will have fun, get exercise, and build confidence.
